PATTERN NOTES
The hat is knit flat in one piece from front to back. The front is a rectangle, consisting of two side parts and a chevron stitch center. When the front is finished, the two ears are knitted without binding off. Stitches are picked up to continue the back of the hat. This back part is shaped a lot like a sock heel: each row you knit the last sts of the middle part together with the first sts of the side parts.
Extra shaping is done by adding extra decreases in the lower backside.
The whole hat is alternately knit in stocking sts and garter sts. But take care: the pattern at the sides differs from the pattern in the center!
