Chevrefeuille
Chevrefeuille
Without holes, no lace. But that doesn’t mean you can’t use these holes creatively. Like by pulling loops through them, while you are knitting. That’s how this hat is knitted. It looks quite complicated, but it is simple and fun to do.
This loop-trick is an open invitation to play around with color combinations. Keep it quiet by using ton-sur-ton. Flash out with bright and contrasting colors. Or create a festive look by using separate colors for each loopy round.
The little bundles of loops remind of Honeysuckle flowers. The pattern is named by their French name Chevrefeuille. The hat is knit top down, so the honeysuckle turns its flowers upwards like in nature.
(If you like Chevrefeuille, but don't like to knit top down, try Guirlande)
